Through his countless organ works, widespread in the 19th century, which are experiencing a renaissance in the present day (including eight extensive anthologies published by Butz-Verlag), the composer from Erlangen-Munich also created dignified vocal works that have lost none of their musical and lyrical value to this day. A new edition of his long out-of-print cycle of seven sacred arias on timeless texts by Gerhard, Geliert and the Psalms, among others, has been published from this collection. Compared to the originals, all songs were transposed so that they can now be sung by a high voice ("Ambitus d'-g"). Accompaniment can be on the organ or piano.
