The Salsa is a mixture of jazz, rock and Afro-Cuban music that was born in the seventies in New York. This musical genre, based on Caribbean rhythmical patterns, gives way to a lot of improvisation. The musical jack-of-all-trades Marcel Peeters was tempted to write this 'Salsa Soufflé(e)' (salsa merrily ‘blown' by wind players) for symphonic band. It will be extremely difficult to keep the audience seated!
