Telemann's Missa brevis on "Allein Gott in der Höh sei Ehr" is one of eleven Latin short masses on church hymn melodies that have come down to us from his pen. The motet-like movement features a four-part choir accompanied by the basso continuo, which is reinforced by accompanying instruments, but the mass can also be performed without orchestral instruments and only with organ accompaniment.
