Rino Bernardi, who was born in Italy, is a prime example of successful social integration. In 1978, he opened his ice cream parlor in Ochsenhausen (Biberach district), which has been a gastronomic institution in this town for decades. In addition, Bernardi is fully integrated into the community, among other things as a generous sponsor of sports, and is often characterized by locals as "more Swabian than many a Swabian". The Italian-Swabian integration à la Rino is the subject of the march "La passione del gelato" (in English: "The passion for ice cream"), which winks at the subject: musical themes and motifs from Italy and the region of Upper Swabia (Biberach) are humorously interwoven to form an indissoluble unity. The "Biberacher Kreismarsch" (Biberach District March), the folk song "Auf der schwäbischen Eisenbahn" (On the Swabian Railway) and – on the Italian side – the songs "Funiculì, Funiculà", "O sole mio" and the Italian national anthem can be heard.
