In his Psalm 151, set to a text by Edward Broadbridge, the Danish composer John Høybye stages a kind of play in which the choir and solo violin have clear roles. The solo violin represents the voice of God, while the choir represents the voices of the people. Both enter into a dialog that develops a musical dynamic through mutual exchange, commentary and struggle.
