I wrote the Harp Booklet in 2008 for my sister Praxedis, whose brilliant and nuanced harp playing inspired me in orchestrating several oratorios.
So that individual parts of these extensive works for choir and orchestra can also be played with harp alone, I arranged the most harpish movements for the Harp Booklet.
Most of the pieces are from oratorios written in collaboration with Silja Walter:
- Flight and Crystal City from 'Verena the Source' (1995)
- The Veil of Veronica from 'Solothurn Way of the Cross' (2001)
- Im silbernen Wassergrund from 'Baarer Christmas Oratorio'' (1991)
- Christmas in Spring and Magdalene's Dance from 'House of New Creation' (2006).
- einst' belongs to the oratorio 'Zu Babel ein Turm' (2006) after texts by Ulrich Knellwolf.
- O tgei buontad, a Rumantsch Christmas carol, was originally set to music in my oratorio Noel (2002).
- The original version of Ave Maria (1993) is a piece for choir and organ dedicated to my Father.
