Composer Patrick Valo is known for light compositions of medium difficulty. He has written several marches, such as Spotlight, Get Up, Vitality, the flute solo Twinkling Flutes, and some ballads, such as Idylle and Oase. He has also composed successful works for youth wind band, including Band's Party N°1 and Band's Party N°2. This new march, Complimento, starts with a unison trumpet call. Next, a merry melodic line is heard, followed by a transition (also with a trumpet call) leading to a new theme, at first in the tenor register. The piece concludes with a final merry tutti passage.
