The President opens with a touching prelude that solemn transforms into a march. It is a tribute to the people that stand firm for community bands with their devotion, charisma, and passion for the people who play in them. This march is definitely not a "common march." Like life, it is filled with important steps that leave memories behind. There are several solos for trumpet, which was the instrument of Jean-Mary Vivier, former chairman (president) of the community band that the composer conducts. This composition is dedicated to him.
