Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924) was a master of smaller pieces. Besides his Requiem and Cantique de Jean Racine, that were his claims to fame, he wrote numerous pieces for piano, amongst others 3 Romances Sans Paroles opus 17. From this cycle, Songs Without Words, Willy Hautvast arranged No. 3 for band. A simple but very melodious little gem.
