Petit Paris starts with a grandioso theme that presents this sparkling city: Oui, oui, ça c'est Paris! Then follows a quiet little stroll through the orangery and a transition to the galantery as well: a Valse Musette with characterictic counter accents – it was to be expected. After a short announcement in the trombones, it's party time in a true Can-Can, as dansed in Le Moulin Rouge. The piece ends again Grandioso, as it should for the city of light.
