I chose the parable that only a seed that falls into the ground and dies can become a tree that even provides shelter for birds.

“Like a seed that falls into the earth and dies”: A semitone represents the seed. As long as it strives upward, it fails. As soon as it is ready to fall into the earth, it can grow. Themes of its completion now begin to sound softly.
“Like a tree”: From the loud sounds and their soft overtones, which together form a chaconne, a tree gradually emerges, in which sap rises, winds blow, and which finally stands complete by the fifth stanza, even though the chaconne theme is now barely recognizable.
“Like with Birds”: Birds fly in from afar to nest in the tree. The quiet promises of the first movement now burst into wild jubilation. The song of a blackbird concludes the parable.
