Master composer Jeff Penders, who was a musician of the American Army band shortly after the war, was commissioned to compose a march for the band. He wrote one that was also a blues. Or perhaps he wrote a blues you can march to? Whatever the case, Marching Blues is an attractive composition, of not too difficult standard. Penders shows how you can achieve great results with few resources.
