The César Franck pupil and organist at St. Clotilde is known today especially for his solid organ works. However, he also wrote substantial Romantic choral music, and from this now almost unknown oeuvre we present a long out-of-print gem: A lively praise motet on the well-known verses from Psalm 117. The motoric and harmonic qualities are predominantly shaped by the colourful organ accompaniment; the two-part choir is allowed to indulge in joyful jubilation from the beginning with a technically very simple movement. A rewarding repertoire expansion with typical French-Romantic flair that can be learned quickly!
